The NCEA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit collaborating with like-minded nonprofits, spiritual communities, and entheogenic churches on shared campaigns, public education, and legal advocacy. We work alongside statewide and national leaders including the San Francisco Psychedelic Society and Decriminalize Nature.

What We Do

⚖️

Policy & Decriminalization

We work directly with city councils, local officials, and civic partners to decriminalize natural entheogens—restoring access to ancestral plant medicines and protecting cognitive liberty as a fundamental right. Our policy work protects users, facilitators, ceremonial guides, and medicine stewards alike.

🌿

Education & Safety

We provide harm reduction training, public forums, and community integration resources—ensuring that entheogen use is grounded in wisdom, care, and consent. Our goal is to normalize safe practices and community accountability in this emerging space.

🏺

Quality Standards & Public Trust

We advocate for high-quality standards in plant medicine preparation and facilitation. By promoting integrity, transparency, and care in sourcing and serving, we protect the public and build lasting trust in this sacred work.

🕊️

Spiritual Freedom & Sacramental Use

Aligned with 508(c)(1)(A) protections, we recognize entheogens as sacred sacraments and support the right to engage with these medicines in spiritual practice, ceremony, and personal transformation—with clear protections for all who steward this work.

🤝

Coalition & Community

We build bridges with local, regional, and national allies to form a united voice for entheogenic freedom. Our work is deeply local and part of a broader cultural movement toward healing, justice, and personal and spiritual sovereignty.

A Future Worth Envisioning

We envision a future where entheogenic medicines are honored with reverence, embraced for their power to heal and awaken, and safeguarded as a sacred right—a cultural evolution from criminalization and stigma toward safety, self-determination, and soul-centered use.
  • Facilitators are legally protected and professionally supported
  • Medicine stewards can operate with transparency and community trust
  • Individuals can access healing without fear of prosecution
  • Ceremonial use is honored and integrated into spiritual life
  • Community trust is strengthened through clear standards, ethical sourcing, and responsible facilitation
